Replacement Lids

If you have a 14 oz mug, the decision is already made. The Black set fits both our mug and our 20 oz tumbler, while the Clear set fits only the 20 oz tumbler. If you only use a 20 oz tumbler, either lid will work, so it comes down to whether you want the flexibility to move the lid to a mug later, and whether you prefer clear or black on your cup.

Both lids share the same core design. The sliding cover pulls completely apart for cleaning, which is the main reason we reworked it. That cover and the silicone gasket underneath are dishwasher safe, though we recommend popping the gasket out of the lid before you run the cycle. Like every lid we make, these are BPA-free and splash-resistant. They will stop coffee from sloshing out as you walk, but they are not leak-proof. Do not toss a full tumbler into a bag with the lid on and expect the inside to stay dry.

Paired with our vacuum-insulated mugs and tumblers, these lids close the cup the same way the original did, and the hours we state for the cup stay the cup's, not the lid's. The lid itself does not insulate, but it seals the top well enough to let the double-wall body do its work. Because the sliding cover is not a plug, steam escapes slowly, which is fine for sipping but means you will lose heat faster if you leave the slider open.

This department will not suit you if you need a lid for a straw tumbler or a water bottle. Those pieces use different threads and a different seal. It also will not cover a 30 oz tumbler, and it will not give you a fully leak-proof carry. If you are looking for a lid that locks tight enough to throw in a gym bag, these are not it. They are straightforward, cleanable replacements for the mug and tumbler you already use every day.
